
Our house has been the scene of an ongoing battle between good and evil as we work to eradicate the mold that seems to be popping up everywhere. The culprit? Leaves. When our big trees lose their leaves every fall we traditionally rake them into a pile then use the mulching feature on our mower to crunch them up into nice, bite sized pieces for bugs and earth worms before moving them into our planter beds. It’s a great way to keep the weeds down and provide nutrients for beneficial bugs and animals. Unfortunately this year the weather has alternated between wet and warm making the perfect breeding environment for leaf mold.
