Anyone living in California is aware of the drought.  I attended a seminar a couple weeks ago and the discussion focused on new ways to manage California’s water.  One of the biggest issues is how water is used in agriculture, amounting to 85% of all developed water in the state.  And cotton is the crop with the greatest irrigated acreage.  Cotton for our clothing and all types of other things is very water intensive.  Is there an alternative?  Absolutely, some pretty interesting ones!  Check it out at Treehugger.com http://www.treehugger.com/galleries/2009/08/weird-eco-fabrics.php?page=1
