PHEV Hybrid Vechicles

I just have a quick note today about buying a Hybrid car. I was reading where a new PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) can be plugged into your home outlet. You charge your vehicle and then it sits plugged in fully charged. When your power company sees your area’s grid needs additional power, it would use an internet connection to access your car’s battery and keep the grid stable.  And you get paid for it.

It concerns me that the battery’s life will be cut short, but I see that the plan is calling for the local utility’s access price is to be 30$ an hour for your car’s battery to be used in the capacity.  Also, there is talk about the power company providing your car’s battery under a lease. They would maintain and replace your battery, and the cost of the lease would show up on your bill, minus the usage for that month.
