It’s utterly ridiculous but at the same time too cute! These bright and colorful electric Cupcake Cars from Neiman Marcus remind me of the Tea Cups at Disneyland and take me back to the Strawberry Shortcake collection I had as a child – I can still smell it now. If they do nothing else, they at least put a smile to your face. These cars are definitely for the person who has money to blow! I wonder how many have actually been purchased?
Designed by Bay Area artist Lisa Pongrace and her “less-rules-more-laughs posse of artists and techno geeks,” the Cupcake Car was originally launched at Burning Man as an art car project. The $25,000 electric car is constructed from a 24 volt electric motor, a battery, sheet metal, wire, fabric, and wood. It tops off at 7 MPH. It could be a fun way to head over to the office, and it sure would get rid of a bad “case of the Mondays.”
I’m thinking Hostess Cupcakes for dessert tonight!

Doesn’t it make you wonder just what the inside of the cupcake car looks like? First thing I thought of.
Second thing, does the peppermint hat come with the car? No hat, no deal.
And lastly, I wonder how well the cupcake car would hold up in Reno.
I wonder if it is warm like those mascot suits? And, How do you see what you are doing when all that is popping out of the Cupcake is your head? Yes, pretty sure the hat comes with it! Ha. You have to be able to top it all off!
But the question I have is, if you buy the cupcake car, do you get to have your cake and eat it too?????? (:
I don’t think it comes with four wheel drive……
