Paint my Roof?

I was cruising through Yahoo the other morning and I saw an article talking about people painting their roofs white to cut down on energy costs.  This wasn’t a bad idea.  So basically people are painting their roofs white to reflect the heat from it and reduce the load on the HVAC system while cooling.  Its mostly targeted at flat top roofs but I think their is something there for all roof types.  Maybe darker roofing materials can be made up of something that doesn’t attract heat as much.

Everyone is so quick to buy store bought sauces or packages of pre-made food for quicker cooking. Ice cream is one where there are so many choices and many have their favorite brand. Heck, I even have my favorite and watch for the store to put Breyers on sale most of the time. However, when I was a small child, I remember my grandfather either picking strawberries or peaches from our farm and then in the back yard we would make old fashioned home made ice cream as a family.
