So being in the business of education, I came across this really great site and I wanted to spread the word. It’s a teen environmental awareness site called “Teens Turning Green.” I really love the “Get Educated” section featuring the “Dirty Thirty,” a list of 30 chemical ingredients that may be linked to cancer, and the “Greener Alternatives” page linking to beauty companies making a difference and trying to make their products safe for teens. There is so much great info on this site, that I didn’t even know about. I really love that they are featuring different events relevant to teens, such as Prom!
Whole Foods actually sponsored a event where teens were to describe their ideal “green” prom in a creative video, three minutes or less, and they can win an incredible green prom prize package from Teens Turning Green, including a trip to New York, an eco prom dress, and eco makeup, skin and haircare products. Here is the winning video. Pretty great ideas I think!

I think this is a great site and sounds like a great organization for our youth to get involved in. It’s nice to see so many passionate about something other than their cell phones, shopping, and themselves.
I’m curious to know how much Whole Foods is involved with this organization. I know they sponsored the “project green prom” but it looks like they might have more involvement that just a sponsor.
