These days with identity theft in full force, it is more important than ever to shred our personal un-needed documents. You know the ones: bank information, social security numbers, pay stubs, credit card statements, etc. The question is, what do you do with the shredded paper when your bin is full? I recently filled up almost an entire black trash bag (you know those things are HUGE) with paper shreds. This made me want research some ideas on other uses for shredded paper. Here are some tips I got from Bohemian Revolution.com and Essortment.com:
1. Use it for packing fragile items such as porcelain and electronics.
2. Use it for Easter basket grass (Easter Sunday is right around the corner!)
3. Add flour and water… you now have paper mache.
4. Use it as bedding for your animals.
5. If you do not have animals, give it to a local shelter for their use.
6. Let your kids use it for art… it could be someone’s crazy hair or mustache.
7. Make pillows out of it.
8. Use it for some extra padding in gift bags.
9. Just plain RECYCLE it!

Great post! Those are all great and creative ideas! I have actually done some of them. We have also made bean-bag chairs out of our shredded paper as well as stuffed scarecrows during Halloween.
I’ve heard some companies use it for house insulation.
Great post Ash!! What about saving it and using it instead of newspaper to start fires in your fireplace in the winter.
